Born and raised in Maine, Rob Fickett didn’t come from a hunting family, but he developed a deep love for the outdoors through fishing, summer camps, and winter activities. After high school, he joined the Army, where he served with unwavering dedication.

After his military service, Rob discovered hunting as a way to reconnect with nature on a deeper level and find solace from the challenges of everyday life. However, life events left him wondering how long he would be able continue pursuing outdoor adventures of his own. This realization fueled his determination to earn his Maine Guide License, allowing him to immerse himself in the outdoors as frequently as possible and share its restorative power with others, particularly his fellow service members.

For Rob, the woods are more than just a place; they’re a source of healing and renewal. In 2022, he joined the OMM team and has since guided various meaningful hunts, including the KUIU & Three Rangers Foundation Gold Star Family Member Moose Hunt. His passion for Maine’s wilderness, his commitment to helping others, and his inspiring journey make him a valuable guide and the engaging host of the Moose Hunt Podcast.
